A Moment in the Dark

This piece is a concept-style illustration depicting the Ring-bearer and Gandalf the Grey, who protects him. 
I focused on lighting, shadow interaction, and emotional composition to show the connection between the two characters. 
Both color and monochrome versions were created to emphasize different moods. 
All characters, props, and lighting setups were fully modeled and rendered in 3D, with final touches done in Photoshop using blending modes and filter adjustments.
